Songs of the Moment

A look at the past

...and to the furture

This month, we take time to relive Matt's early work, as well as peer into what's in store for the drummer in the future.

Matt began his early career with the band Feedback, which later evolved into the Seattle band Skinyard. Tbe band played it's first gig on June 7th of 1985 with the U-men. The band released material on the famous Deep Six compilation and later released a self-titled LP. Matt's presence was felt greatly throughout the entire album. The track entitled "Scratch" prooves a perfect example of Matthew's influence on the band's music.

Just recently, Matt completed the '98 Yield Tour with the band Pearl Jam. Although it has yet to be decided if he's the permanent drummer for the band, one thing is clear, his role as substitute was played out superbly. Matt rose to the occasion, and lifted the band to even greater energy levels. No song displayed this energy any better than the song "Immortality." With a riveting solo by guitarist Mike McCready, and a thundering barage by Mr. Cameron, Immortality proved to be one of the songs of the year. Long time fans have said time and time again that,

"Matt own's Immortality."
